GGOING is a service that ensures mobility rights for people with mobility disabilities, both before leaving their homes and upon returning. GGOING enables wheelchair users to expand their range of motion and minimize unnecessary time spent on movement.

After watching an interview with a wheelchair user on YouTube, I realized that people with disabilities in wheelchairs use apps tailored for non-disabled individuals.
Since then, I've begun to consider how to provide them with a more convenient mobility experience. This was the beginning of my project.

The overall satisfaction levelfor transportation services is lower for those with mobility disabilities compared to those without.

Journey to find an answer

I researched solutions that already exist for the mobility disabled, and I found that apps’ UX/UI are inconvenient for users.

More efforts are needed to promote the rights of the mobility-disabled
to use the road safely and conveniently without discrimination.

During the interviews, I divided the participants into two groups: wheelchair users and stroller users. These interviews allowed me to obtain unexpected complaints from the users and gain new insights.

After utilizing an Affinity Diagram to analyze transportation challenges faced by individuals with mobility disabilities, I identified their needs and devised more efficient ways to reduce their pre-outing internet search time.

During my work on the GGOING project, I gained a new perspective and was able to empathize with the uncomfortable experiences of people I hadn't considered before. I also learned that improving the user experience requires putting aside personal biases and considering the needs of all users, not just my preferences. This project served as a valuable reminder to study and understand the users of the LOG app I work for.

Takeaways

There are still many unresolved problems in the world. I want to delve into the lives of socially vulnerable individuals who may have been overlooked and initiate a project that utilizes new technology and convenient interaction to help them live more comfortably. In the future, I hope to design a user-friendly service that will ensure that even the digitally vulnerable can stay informed and feel happy, safe, and comfortable by receiving timely notifications.
